Health Care Establishments (HCEs) produce a number of different types of waste and following are the Acts / Rules pertaining to pollution control & applicable to HCEs:
Bio- Medical Waste Management Cell :

For deciding applications for Authorization under BMW Rules and Consent under Air & Water Act, in respect of Hospitals/Health Care Establishments/ Nursing Homes etc. Having bed strength less than 51 beds including Digonistic Centres, Path Labs etc. Authorization and Consent to Establish and Consent to Operate under BMW Rules will be decided by Concerned Branch Encharge.

Hospital/ Nursing Homes/Health Care Establishments etc. having bed strength of more than 50 beds including Digonistic Centres, Path Labs etc. Authorization and Consent to Establish and Consent to Operate under BMW Rules will be decided by following Committes:-

Hospital/ Nursing Homes/ Health Care Establishments etc.with bed strength of 51 to 199.
Common Bio-Medical Waste Treatment Facilities (CBWTFs) in Delhi :

There are two operators of CBWTFs in Delhi :

Following two agencies have been identified by DPCC for collection of the mercury from the Hospital/Health Care Establishments in Delhi.

These agencies are engaged in manufacture of Thermometers / B.P. measuring Apparatus etc. and the collected mercury from hospitals which is almost in elemental form is used in their manufacturing process.

1. As per DPCC Board meeting dated 09.12.2009 and office orders dated 20.05.2016 and 30.09.2016, the fee structure for obtaining Authorization under Bio-Medical Management Rules 2016 w.e.f 28th March 2016 is as follows:-

4. Hospitals, Nursing Homes and Health Care Establishments 1000/- per annum upto 4 beds and additional Rs. 100 per bed per annum from fifth bed onwards.
5. Operator of the Common Bio-Medical Waste Treatment Facility Rs. 10, 000/- per annum
6. Collection, Packaging and Transporter of bio-medical waste Rs. 7, 500/- per annum
  • For Health care units run by Govt. / Govt. Body :

Rs. 100/- per annum for Authorization under Bio-Medical Management Rules, 2016 as amended to date(Office order dated 20.05.2016)

Note:

Synchronization of validity of authorization under BMW Rules, 2016 as amended to date and consent under Air and water Acts. When a HCF completes either of this validity period earlier, the HCF is required to apply for both authorization as well as consent. Validity of both consent and authorization will be for the period of five years. (Office order dated 30.06.2016)

2. As per DPCC Board meeting dated 09.12.2009, the fee structure for obtaining Consent under Air and Water Act for Health care Establishments are as follows:-

Note:
