Soild Waste Monitoring Committee

​* Solid Waste Monitoring Committee (SWMC) headed by Hon’ble LG, Delhi, with the CS, GNCTD, as Convener constituted by the Hon’ble NGT (order dated 16.02.2023).

​* To deal with all issues relating to SWM including setting up of new waste processing facilities, augmenting existing waste processing facilities and remediation of legacy waste sites.

​* Timelines prepared be shortened and adhered to with laid down penal consequences against violations and, officers of rank of Chief Engineers, given responsibility, be named for fixing responsibility for remediation of three sites as well as setting up of waste processing facilities.

​* Success of the committee will be viewed by outcome in terms of reduction of existing legacy waste quantum, reclamation of land and addressing the current gap in generation and treatment of waste and thus targets of the committee should be measurable and identifiable.
